Hi! I know about "20 is Plenty" - it sounds like a really good scheme. This seems to their Web site: http://www.20splentyforus.org.uk/

"Far from slowing a town to a crawl, 20 mph in residential areas makes hardly any difference at all to journey times."

Sounds good to me!

I will try my best to make it to the AG NF meeting on Thu 17 Sep 2009, but just in case something comes up ... hopefully they will put something up on their 'blog about the discusssions (and could you give my apologies?!)

Good afternoon!

I ended up spending the day with my mother instead of going to the Teddy Bears Picnic.

It is good that the Yardley Road works has been completed, but I am sad to see people driving at excessive speeds along there once again. I wonder whether we could one day have a Yardley Road Shared Space scheme around the schools and shops?

I would be very interested to read more on this blog about your Francis Road Neighbourhood Watch - how things are going with running it, and how residents are getting involved, and what you all feel are the benefits?

Best wishes,

Amanda

Hi Rebbca and Mandy

I'm a Community Fundraiser for Birmingham St Mary's Hospice and I've just read your article in the Birmingham Post and thought this would be a brilliant opportunity for me to 'plea' for help with an event I've got coming up soon.

Our Anuual Street Collection takes place over two consecutive days (Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September) and covers the whole of Birmingham. We have huge support from the people in Acocks Green area but as yet I've only got a couple of collectors in the town on the Saturday so need more people. I'm wondering if you can help me in any way with recruiting volunteer collectors in Acocks Green?

Any help you can offer me would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

Hello ,Douglas Road - Francis Road calling - Long time no see!

Each new day I am discovering a new creative way to get to my destination, remembering to allow extra time for my journey, and the same goes for my return. How to get home in 10 easy lessons! Alexander Rd are bearing the brunt of things at the moment and increased traffic around Stockfield Estate too- my dog gets really excited when we approach the park in the car then gives me filthy looks when we pass it without stopping!

Did you go to the Teddy Bears Picnic on the 25th July ? If so how did it go?
